Sometimes we experience situations that affect our ability to lead a happy, healthy and productive life. In some cases, we can use tools and resources to solve these problems on our own, but in other cases, we need to reach out for help.
Tips for Your Well-Being
- Get Enough Rest. Rest lets your brain recharge, gives you energy and improves your mood. Adults should get 7 to 9 hours of restful sleep per night.
- Move. Exercise eases stress and anxiety to improve our mood and gives us a sense of accomplishment. Exercise releases feel-good chemicals like serotonin and endorphins, reduces tension and increases energy.
- Take a Break from Social Media. According to Sprout Social, the average person spends over 2.5 hours per day on social media. Social media can be a wonderful tool for hearing about family and friends. But excessive use of social media can cause feelings of anxiety, depression or isolation.
- Connect with Others. We’re social by nature, and healthy relationships have a major impact on our mental health. We benefit from connecting with friends and family as well as joining groups based on shared interests or hobbies. Or, if you are struggling with your mental health or feelings, connect with a therapist or counselor.
